Slow down & relax

For those who are overcoming nerves public speaking, there are several measures which they may take. A person may try deep breathing to relax themselves. Whenever a person begins to panic, breathing will become swift and erratic and adrenalin will begin to course through their veins.

The fight or flight response will be the activated and a person who has to speak in public will be too overwhelmed by these feelings.

By breathing in deeply and slowly, the flow of oxygen to the brain will become normal again and this will help a person to calm down and this will definitely help with overcoming public speaking.

You can plan out what you will say next and be able to organise your thoughts. Just don’t take too long drinking in between sentences as it may become awkward and may even have a comical effect; and the last thing you want is for people to begin laughing at you.

Be prepared

The easiest way to overcoming public speaking is simply preparing yourself for it. Make sure you are ready and practice the speech as much as you can in order to deliver it as eloquently as you can.
